The Growth Impact Fund’s guide to ethical shopping this Christmas
Are you keen on shopping ethically this Christmas? At the Growth Impact Fund, we’ve been privileged to support many ethical, social purpose organisations this year through investments and grant funding. Here’s our recommendation of businesses to support this festive season.
By Trishna Nath, Head of Investment
Harry Specters
Everyone loves chocolate, and Harry Specters makes phenomenal chocolate! The business has recently been awarded funding from GIF for their work supporting neurodiverse people through employment. So, if you fancy satisfying your sweet tooth with ethical, artisanal Christmas themed chocolates, they’re your people.
Lovewell
Do you long for some pampering and relaxation this winter? If so, LoveWell has you sorted. They offer amazing aromatherapy candles, bath salts and gift sets if you’re stuck for ideas. They’ve recently been supported by GIF’s pre-investment grant fund, and we love what they do. Their range of beauty products are handmade by women who have experienced barriers to employment. Every sale helps to create empowering work for women moving on from trauma.
Bees and Refugees
Ali Alzein, is a Syrian activist, and CEO and Founder of Bees & Refugees. Ali fled Syria and was awarded asylum in the UK in 2014, a few years later he pivoted his career to pursue beekeeping as a therapeutic intervention for himself and other refugees and asylum seekers.
By buying local honey, or even a coaster or two you can support Ali, and the bees!
Imagine Me Stories
Imagine Me Stories dreams of a world where every child grows up seeing their realities reflected in books and that all children are able to read diverse stories about different experiences. Through their book sales, and subscription box, the business champions diverse books and black history for ages 0–12.
